Diane Thompson

Diane is a chartered psychologist with over 15 years’ experience in psychotherapeutic and mental health settings. She is a member of the Counselling division of the British Psychological Society an an HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. She also has a Msc. in Counselling Psychology and Advanced Practitioner Diploma in Counselling Psychology. Diane’s experience as a psychologist has been in the NHS and within the voluntary/charitable sector where she has worked with a wide range of problems that includes stress and anxiety problems, depression, relationship problems, addictions, anger, self-esteem and bereavement.

Her psychotherapeutic approach is pluralistic which means that she uses a number of psychological models to understand the everyday social and psychological problems that people encounter. She believes that therapy works best when the client and therapist collaborate together to ascertain what would be the most helpful to the client.
