Sarah Heacock

Sarah is a registered psychotherapist working primarily with adolescents and adults. Born in Scotland, Sarah has recently returned to the UK after many years of living in the United States. As such, Sarah particularly enjoys working with immigrant and ex-pat clients processing through questions of identity and culture. Sarah is consistently described as warm, friendly, and persistent by past clients and colleagues.

Sarah began her career working with teenagers with significant mental health challenges in non-profit and school based settings before moving into private practice, where she primarily works with older teenagers, university students, and young professionals. In therapy, she blends Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with her background in trauma and attachment theory in order to support the whole person: their history, relationships, and present circumstances. Some of the typical challenges her clients face include anxiety, overthinking or rumination, perfectionistic tendencies, relational conflict, and self-esteem. Sarah also works regularly with individuals diagnosed with ADHD and ASD utilising a strengths-based, neurodivergent framework due to her experience in school-based EHCP teams. Sarah believes therapy is collaborative, and that healing is co-created in an atmosphere of safety, trust, and accountability.
